An SSL certificate enciphers the connection between your clients and your online store and informs everybody that it is a safe place to shop. You would ordinarily obtain an SSL certificate from a third–party provider. However, at Host a Domain, you can get one straight through your hosting Control Panel.

Simply go to the SSL Certificates menu and choose if you need a common SSL certificate or a wildcard SSL certificate. Then simply request an activation and we’ll carry out everything else on your behalf in no time.

Working with our Domain Manager is pretty easy, no matter whether you’ve got one or multiple domain names to administer. Via its easy–to–work–with interface, you can select many domain names at a time and renew them (for one or several years), update their nameservers or edit the WHOIS information associated with them instantaneously.

If you also have a web hosting account with us, you’ll be able to manage both multiple domain names and multiple sites all at once from just one single location.

The WHOIS information for your domain shows your official contact details and it must be kept relevant at all times. In case your email changes, or if you want to transfer the ownership of your domain to somebody else, you’ll have to alter your WHOIS information momentarily.

Through the point ’n’ click Domain Manager tool, you’ll be able to easily update the WHOIS information for one or multiple domains at once! All the modifications that you’ve made will be updated online right away! Please bear in mind that not all domain name extensions support this option, so first check on our web site if this feature is offered for the domain that you intend to to update.

With the Wildcard functionality available in the Domain Manager, you will be able to make all the hosts that you have under a certain domain name open the index page of your website.

This feature can come into play if you need to run a multisite app on your web site, or if you want a particular sub–domain to redirect to the home page of your site.

You will be able to add a wildcard domain with just a click of the mouse via the Control Panel–integrated Domain Manager tool. Just hit the Add Host button located on the right and you’ll see the Wildcard option at the bottom of the dialogue box.

At Host a Domain, we give you complete control over your domain names’ DNS records. Through the Custom DNS section of the Domain Manager, you will be able to change various types of DNS records for a chosen domain. For instance, A, AAAA, MX, NS, SRV, CNAME and TXT resource records. To set a new DNS resource record, just pick a domain and then enter the desired value in the corresponding DNS resource record field. To update the DNS resource record – click ’Modify’; to go back to the former value – click ’Revert’.

Via the GeoIP location tool, also included in the Custom DNS section, you will be able to present a given language version of your web site to people from a given geographic region.

With the web hosting Control Panel, domain name parking is easy and quick. You simply need to define the domain name you need to park and to pick one of our domain parking templates – Under Construction or For Sale. Our intelligent system will park your domain name momentarily with no waiting time. And if you have to un–park it, it can be done with a click of the mouse.

If you desire to impart a bit more personal touch to the domain parking templates, you may also insert custom text.

The Domain Manager gives you the chance to address a particular target audience on the basis of its physical whereabouts. Using our GeoIP location tool, you will be able to effortlessly direct the visitors from a certain geographical region to a particular part of your site that addresses their needs. For instance, if you desire to build a French version of your site, you can set up a sub–domain fr.your–website.com and use the tool to point the visitors from France and from the French–speaking countries around the world to this particular subdomain.

The GeoIP location tool has an intuitive interface via which you can set up a redirection with just a click of the mouse. There is absolutely no need to add any code to the .htaccess file.

With the Registrar Lock option activated, you can be certain that your domain is protected against cyber theft. Any person who initiates an unsolicited domain transfer will be instantly stopped and the domain name transfer request – denied.

In the event that, at one point, you decide to transfer your domain name to some other domain registrar, you will be able to unlock it with a click of the mouse. You’ll find the domain locking/unlocking functionality in the Domain Manager section of your Control Panel.
