FTP, which denotes File Transfer Protocol, represents the most famous way to transmit website files to a hosting account. Using FTP client software that’s pre-installed on your desktop or laptop PC, you can make a connection to your hosting server and copy all of the website files that you want with a couple of clicks. This is done using an easy-to-work-with GUI and it is as simple as dragging & dropping the aforementioned files. The advantage of using FTP is the fact that you are able to set up different FTP accounts, each with a different level of access to your server space, so if you need to give somebody access, for example – a web designer, they will be able to access only a particular directory and will not be able to view the rest of your content or any other information, such as private details. Three things are required to be able to set up an FTP connection – a hostname, which is normally an IP address or a domain, a user name and a password.

FTP Accounts in Cloud Hosting

You can set up as many FTP accounts as you wish with any of the cloud service that we’re offering, because we have decided not to restrict this functionality. Thus, you can run multiple sites simultaneously or grant other individuals access to multiple folders. As soon as a given job has been done and you would not like that person to be able to access your files anymore, you can modify the password associated with the given FTP account or you can simply delete that account with a couple of clicks and stop worrying about someone using it once again. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with all shared web hosting plans, will allow you to view the full list of the existing FTP accounts displayed in alphabetical order. It takes just a click to administer different options for any of them – to modify the password or the access path, to download an auto-config file, etc.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our Linux semi-dedicated servers are rather powerful, which makes them excellent for hosting an extensive number of sites. Speaking of which, we’ve decided not to restrict the number of FTP accounts that you can create, so you can have a different account for each Internet site that you host on our platform. All FTP accounts will be shown in alphabetical order in the corresponding section of the Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with each semi-dedicated server account. For any of them, you’ll be able to see the access path and to update it, if needed. What’s more, you can set up a new account in an FTP client of your desire by downloading an auto-config file and running it on your computer system, which will save you time. If you’ve never opened a web hosting account before, you can check our detailed video tutorials, which are available in the very same Control Panel section.

FTP Accounts in VPS Servers

The VPS server packages that we’re offering will allow you to set up unlimited FTP accounts to manage the content of your websites. This is valid regardless of which Virtual Private Server package you get and which Control Panel you select during the signup procedure – DirectAdmin, cPanel or Hepsia. In all cases, you’ll gain FTP access to the VPS without the need to install any kind of software, since an FTP server is an essential part of the software suite that is included in the Virtual Private Server plans by default. You can set up one FTP account for each domain or subdomain that you have or even multiple accounts for a single directory – in case you want different users to be able to access the web content in it with their very own set of sign-in credentials. With each of the Control Panels, creating, deleting or modifying an FTP account will require no more than a few clicks via a simple-to-work-with graphical interface.
